What is the relationship between mindfulness and self awareness?
I feel as though I have already answered parts of this question in my previous reflections of Search Inside Yourself and would be regurgitating the same kōrero. I think it highlighted that the practice of mindfulness can help us grow a better understanding of self awareness, which eventual can lead to greater self confidence and emotional awareness / intelligence.
Try at least one of the self awareness practices from the chapter, what was your experience of it? How did you feel?
I tried the Body Scan. Personally, it felt a bit like daydreaming while feeling very relaxed. I enjoyed the part at the end where we had to find a positive experience / emotion and remember what that feeling was like, and while keeping that feeling or emotion in mind we were asked to try and bring our attention to different parts of the our body, this made me feel even more relaxed and slightly light headed.
What did you take away from the "My Emotions are Not me" section?
Not much, most of that stuff I feel I was aware off before reading that section.
