SEARCH INSIDE YOURSELF - CHAPTER 3
Meditation and Process
23.MAR.2016
What did you learn from your 'mindfulness conversation’?How did the other person find it?
The mindfulness conversation was done with my partner over a cuppa. Because my partner and I have conversations all the time, it was a bit different trying to have one where it felt like we had to follow rules.
For me personally, I found it quite difficult to give my full attention and found myself dipping quite a lot when it was my turn to listen. The teachings about acknowledging those thoughts and just letting them be was something I found interesting and is something I plan to think about a bit more next time I’m in a convo with someone.
Overall my partner enjoyed the conversation. She said it was a little weird doing all the talking for that amount time without any input from the other person.
Which of the three suggested techniques will you use to sustain your practice?
I’m not sure which techniques I am going to use for practice yet. I plan to read through the chapter again, I think I’ll give them all a try.
I do like the breathing process when you find your mind wondering during a conversation.
Any other musings?
It was cool to see the line about comparing parts of the meditation process to falling asleep, only because I mentioned something along the same lines in my last cultural blog post.
